Dr. Tattoff performs laser procedures, not excisions. Please direct any questions about excision to a doctor who performs excisions.

do you know if its less painful than lasering, since your not awake during the surgery?

Most people avoid excision because it tends to leave a terrible scar. If you don’t mind sporting a potentially terrible scar, it’s definitely faster and less expensive than laser tattoo removal.

plus I’m black, and I know the darker the skin the harder to remove, so this is why I might be opting for an excision

ok well the tattoo I have is small and black, and I was wondering if I should opt for an excision? I know it leaves a scar but I don’t mind..and the tattoo is fairly new! Do you know why many people avoid the excision method?

The length of time it takes to remove a tattoo and potential success rate are entirely individual to your own body. Please visit the FAQ page at drtattoff dotcom for answers to the most common questions. If you are in the Southern California area, please make an appointment for a free consultation at any of our clinics by calling 888-828-8633.

so how many sessions does it take a (black person) to remove a small all black ink tattoo??

Indeed it does. Laser tattoo removal is typically more effective on lighter skin types, but we have successfully removed tattoos from even the darkest skin types. Please visit the before and after page on drtattoff dotcom for pictures.

I had my second treatment on two days ago. I cut open an aloe plant and stuck in on my burn for two hours and then took it off. My tattoo looks like it did not even get laser treatment, not like the super bad rug burn looking spot I had last time. Tell your friends if they get laser treatments to do this. SOOO much better.
